Information Gran Fondo Val Casies 2008

After the big success of the “Koasalauf”in Austria, the “Tirol Trophy” ends with the cross country ski race “Grand Fondo Val Casies which takes place on Sunday the 17th February 2008. The award ceremony (for the participants of all the 3 races) takes place on the target area after the “Gran Fondo Val Casies” race.

Information Koasalauf 2008

Despite challenging snow conditions the 36th Int’l Tiroler Koasalauf will take place as scheduled on 9th and 10th February 2008. In order to offer competitors the usual high Koasalauf standards this year’s cross-country race will be held in Pillerseetal.

Program Saturday, 9 February 2008
Start and finish: sports field in St. Ulrich am Pillersee.

09:00 am – 6:00 pm: late entries, bib and chip hand-out at the indoor pools in St. Ulrich am Pillersee.
11:15 am: Start Special Koasa 3km
12:15 noon: Start Super Mini Koasa 700m
1:15 pm: Mini Koasa start 2km and 4km
2:30 pm: Award Ceremony at the Kultur- and Sportzentrum

Program Sunday, 10 February 2008
Start and Finish: sports field in St. Ulrich am Pillersee.

07:00 am – 10:00 am: late entries, bib and chip hand-out at the indoor pools in St. Ulrich am Pillersee.
10:00 am: Start Koasalauf 20km and 30km Classic
10:45 am: Start Koasalauf 30km and 45km Skating
10:45 am: Start 20km Koasa Light and Junior Marathon

3:00 pm: Award-Ceremony at the Kultur- and Sportzentrum.
The award-ceremony for the Junior Koasa is held right after the race.

Course for all Race Distances:
St. Ulrich am Pillersee – Schwendt – Warming – Wiesensee - Hochfilzen (turning point for the 20km and 30km classic and skating races) – Hochfilzen – Feistenau – Hochfilzen – Wiesensee – Schwendt (turning point for the 20km classic and skating races between Schwendt and Flecken) – Flecken - St. Jakob im Haus – Flecken – St. Ulrich am Pillersee.

Shuttle bus service from St. Johann in Tirol / Koasastadion to St. Ulrich and back:
Saturday, 09 February 2008: from Koasastadion at 09:00 am, 11:00 am and 1:00 pm
Sunday, 10 February 2008: from Koasastadion at 08:30 am

The Koasalauf is taking place on 10.02.2008!

After a really successful start with the ski trail, the Tyrol Trophy will continue on 10.02.2008 with the widely and well-known KOASALAUF. Even if the weather has not been particularly wintery in the past few days, we can inform you that the event will take place in any case.
The final event of the Tyrol Trophy takes place on 17.02.2008 in South Tyrol’s Gsiesertal.

TIROL TROPHY begins with the Ski-Trail

Tirol Trophy 2008 begins on 27.01.2008 with the Skitrail in snow covered Tannheim valley. There are also excellent snow conditions just now for the Koasalauf and the Gsiesertal Lauf.

There is no need to register for the Tirol Trophy as registration for any of the other events includes automatic registration for this.

Only the skating events will be assessed for the Tirol Trophy overall placings.

TIROL TROPHY also in the year 2008

Following the positive response of the last few years, we have decided to maintain the TIROL TROPHY overall results also in 2008. Please notice that the regulations have been updated, with special focus on the prize-giving for all participants considered for the TIROL TROPHY that will take place on the occasion of the closing race. From November 1, 2007, you can print the TIROL TROPHY brochure directly from the website, by following the “Download” link. The organisers of the Tannheimer and Gsieser valleys and St. Johann in Tirol wish you a lot of fun and satisfaction with this healthy sport.
